Barreto has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Island Sparring. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mariner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barreto's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barreto can do anything to dispel that myth.#T1#
Barreto has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mariner is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

No luck for Barreto with that takedown attempt.

Ximenes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barreto's guard.
Ximenes pushing down on Barreto's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ximenes uses his free foot to push down on Barreto's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Barreto.
Ximenes seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Barreto is holding on tight.
