A head kick from Green lands but Doc takes it in his stride. Doc has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Doc moves out of range as Green throws a body kick.
Green throws a lazy head kick and Doc counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Doc missing with a left hand there. Green was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Green misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Doc misses with a looping left. A head kick by Green misses and Green takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Doc blocks a head kick by Green.
Doc moves out of range of the body kick from Green.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Doc! But no joy. Doc moves out of range of the body kick from Green.

It seemed like Doc was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Green tries to clinch up but Doc circles away and keeps his distance. Looter tries to bum rush Doc with a series of wild strikes but Doc uses good footwork to avoid the assault. It seemed like Doc was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Looter dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Looter connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Doc pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Looter fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Doc has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doc misses with a looping left. Looter is looking to counter the offense by Doc and move into the clinch. Martin Looter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Doc takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Doc is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Carl definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Carl misses with some punches.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Felipao tries for a takedown but Doc circles away easily and Doc counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Doc counters with a nice uppercut. Felipao feints and as Doc raises his hands in defense, Felipao changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Doc manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Felipao throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Doc was covering up waiting for the punch and Felipao finishes the takedown easily into guard. Felipao stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control.
