Valenzuela follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard. Raymond controlling the position well. Raymond on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Raymond tries to get out of the position. Nice strikes from Valenzuela there. Valenzuela has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Raymond avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Valenzuela. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Raymond gets back to full guard.
#SUB# Raymond has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Valenzuela can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Raymond manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Valenzuela manages to get himself to full guard.

Raymond loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Raymond wants to pass the guard but Valenzuela is keeping the position. Raymond is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Valenzuela is just riding it out for now. Raymond eventually gives up the hold. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Raymond with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Valenzuela fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Raymond looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Raymond looks for a takedown but Valenzuela sprawls well.#T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Raymond tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Valenzuela swivels and escapes. Valenzuela goes for a double leg but Raymond avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Raymond continues to drive forward. Valenzuela lands with a nice combination. Raymond backs away looking to recover. Kevin Raymond is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Valenzuela jabs Raymond right on the nose. Raymond blinks but takes it well. Raymond takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
