Mckean keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. James in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. James throws a big right hand that misses. James lands a couple of digs. We've been hearing good reports from Mckean's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Mckean pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ishmael is keeping the position for now. Ishmael wants to sweep but no luck. Mckean trying to control the position from guard on top but Ishmael is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mckean won't allow Ishmael to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mckean sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. Coco utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Nice body punch from Coco - that landed with a thud.

Coco doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Mckean staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Mckean doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

#R1# Pereira Carvalho stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pereira Carvalho wants it to stay on the feet. Pereira Carvalho scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mckean has his takedown stuffed and Pereira Carvalho counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mckean takes one on the chin but seems OK.
#CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Mckean tries to pull guard but Pereira Carvalho won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Mckean. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mckean jumps guard but Pereira Carvalho stands there with Mckean around his waist. Mckean gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Pereira Carvalho scores the big KO victory!

Mckean falls to his knees and Wilson doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

It's a big risk for Mckean but it's paid off an Koko is forced to tap! Nice work by Mckean.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#CL# Mckean moves into the clinch. Mckean jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Koko walks away with a smile on his face. Mckean gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #KD2# Koko feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mckean sprawling to the canvas! Mckean rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Koko finish him?!
Mckean wants to clinch up but Koko keeps it at a distance. Mckean gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Koko gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tapu Koko! Tapu Koko got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!' |

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#TD# Mckean fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rasputin sprawls well initially but Mckean persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rasputin looks like he's trying to stand up.
Rasputin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mckean. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mckean uses his free foot to push down on Rasputin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rasputin. Rasputin is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Mckean has taken his back! Rasputin is trying to stand back up. Mckean wants to control but Rasputin is keeping busy. Mckean struggling to land strikes to the head as Rasputin covers up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB# Rasputin is trying to defend against the choke here but Mckean has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Mckean Tightens the hold and Rasputin taps out furiously! Mckean displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mckean fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mckean darts in looking for a takedown but Graves gets double underhooks and turns Mckean into the cage. Graves comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Graves scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mckean doesn't seem bothered though. Mckean definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Mckean changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Graves tries to avoid it but Mckean manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Graves to the ground. Graves escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Mckean. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Mckean feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
