Bowers connects with a jab.#CUT2#It looks like Peter Spilles has been cut. Bowers slaps away a takedown attempt from Spilles, before circling back to the center of the mat. Bowers bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Spilles throws a hook but Bowers avoids it easily. Bowers throws a push kick but Spilles slaps the foot to one side. Spilles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bowers with the inside leg kick. A swing and a miss from Bowers. A telegraphed right hand from Bowers misses the target. Spilles swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Bowers has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Spilles is landing a low percentage of strikes. Spilles gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Bowers takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.#T1# Bowers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
