#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanks looks to land a combination but Din avoids it well. Din let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Hanks leaves Din with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hanks is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Din. Din fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hanks avoids it really well and circles away. Hanks has a takedown stuffed. Hanks tries a head kick but it misses.
Din shoots in for a double leg but Hanks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Tom Hanks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bel Din.#TD# Hanks is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Din's half guard. Din taking some punishment here, with Hanks in his half guard. Din is holding on to half guard well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hanks is looking to pass Din's guard but actually Din recovers to full guard. Hanks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Din trying to keep a closed guard but Hanks is proving a slippery customer.

Hanks throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Din's body to avoid the submission. Din has instead reached around Hanks's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Din arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#TD# Jez tries to sprawl but Din drives through with a takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jez is looking to control Din's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jez avoid being mounted? Din slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.#SUB# Din tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Din. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Din throwing shots but missing, from side control. #T1# Jez is looking for a sweep.#SUB# Din is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #SUB# Din swings around for an armbar but Jez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Din's guard. Jez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Din is proving hard to escape from. Jez trying to control but Din is working from the bottom. Jez throws a big right hand that misses. Jez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Din is keeping the position for now. Jez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Din manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jez manages to get himself to full guard.

#T3# Din sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jez defending well though. Jez is in trouble now - Din has advanced to mount! #SUB# Jez has left one of his arms exposed and Din doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Jez screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Max Hermawan really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 198.2, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Bel Din was cancelled. |
