#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Django on the wrong end of a nice hook.#CUT2#It looks like James Django has been cut. Django throws a nice looking combination but Aleth bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. It seemed like Aleth was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Django misses with a low kick. Aleth ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Django moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Aleth's coach down at Island Sparring was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Aleth's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Django tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Aleth defends well and Django ends up having to push Aleth into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. We've been hearing reports that Django has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.#CL2# Aleth clinches up with Django and pushes him back against the cage. Django is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Aleth gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. A left hand lands to the body for Aleth.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Django takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Django throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
As Django tries to get set, Carl tries to push him back and clinch up but Django manages to avoid the attempt.#CL# Carl gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Django can't get the takedown.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Carl. Carl lands a right hand that snaps the head of Django backwards. Django's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Carl lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Django backwards. Carl goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#CL2# Hart closes the distance and clinches. Django looking to throw knees to the head but Hart is blocking nicely.
Hart has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Django after a bit of a struggle. Hart blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Django goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Hart is working for takedown but Django is calmly controlling the position for now.#TD# Django lands a takedown into guard.
Django won't allow Hart to sweep him here. Django chips away with some ground and pound.#SUB# Django is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Django is in close to Hart's body, working some short punches and elbows. Django stays in close to Hart's body and controls the position. Hart is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hart has momentary wrist control but Django slips an elbow through the middle.#T1# Hart trying to control the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Django dives in and scores a takedown into Hootenanny's guard. Django trying to control the position from guard on top but Hootenanny is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Django drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Django jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Django looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Django throws a big right hand that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Django postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Django prevents Hootenanny from getting back to his feet. Django throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Django throwing strikes but missing. Django postures up in Hootenanny's guard and throws a big left but Hootenanny blocks it. Django postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hootenanny is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Django, into his guard. Django pulls Hootenanny in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hootenanny wants to get up but he can't break Django's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hootenanny stands up and waves to Django to follow him. Hootenanny gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Django to score an easy takedown into full guard. Django pushes down on Hootenanny's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Django controls from within his opponent's guard. Django must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Django is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hootenanny utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hootenanny preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hootenanny has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Django with a poor takedown and Tos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A big right from Tos misses. Django gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tos counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Tos lands a nice shot that snaps Django's head back.
A swing and a miss from Tos. Tos rushes Django and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
