The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wild misses with a jab, cross combination.
Walte moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Wild closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Walte tries to escape but Wild is in control. Wild is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Walte wants to get back to his feet but Wild is dominant here and he's now got Walte's back! Wild is hanging on to Walte's back as he tries to escape.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Wild is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Walte defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wild lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
It looks like Wesly Walte has been cut. Walte wants to get back to his feet. Walte really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Walte trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Wild has got his arm under Walte's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Walte has spun round into Wild's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Wild wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Walte manages to pass to side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walte is trying to control. Wild wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Walte will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Wild is looking to improve his position.
Wild wants to control but Walte is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wild wants to improve his position but Walte is controlling well.

Walte wants to take a breather but Wild is having none of it. Wild keeping control of the position. Walte escapes and gets back to his feet. Wild shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wild was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Wild goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Walte has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wild but great work by Walte. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wild can do anything to dispel that myth. Walte working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walte is looking to take a break and control but Wild is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wild really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walte. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. You can see the frustration on Wild's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Walte tries to score with some ground and pound. Wild controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Wild tries to get back to half guard but can't. Walte tries for a kimura but Wild is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wild can't do much from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wesly Walte dominated that round. The cut man is working on Wesly Walte's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Wild clinches up against the cage. Wild breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Walte works over Wild's head and body with a nice combination. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walte bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Wild's head backwards. The fighters circling - Walte throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wild drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walte holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Walte is looking to reverse the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wild wants to control but Walte is keeping him busy. Wild working the ground and pound. Wild trying to control the position but Walte is working away. Wild is trying to move to mount but Walte reverses beautifully and ends up in Wild's guard. Walte trying to control but Wild is working from the bottom. Walte postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wild looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Wild is looking for a triangle here but Walte uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Wild is trying to control Walte's posture but Walte avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wild is pushing Walte's head away, looking to escape. Walte manages to hold on to the position though. Walte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wild keeps working. Walte working away. Walte is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wild can do to turn this around?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walte in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Wild is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
