The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ayobi slips a jab and a cross from Taylor.
Ayobi throwing a counter right hand but Taylor manages to avoid it.
Ayobi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Taylor counters with a right hand to the body.
Taylor lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Taylor takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ayobi walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Taylor drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Ayobi swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Taylor's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Battaglia tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ayobi defends well and Battaglia ends up having to push Ayobi into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Christian Ayobi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Battaglia.

Battaglia goes for a double leg but Ayobi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Ayobi continues to drive forward.

Battaglia closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Battaglia is looking to take a break and control but Ayobi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ayobi tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Battaglia presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Battaglia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
