Nice takedown defense from Kevin. No joy for Kadyrov on that attempt.
Kevin wants to counter with a clinch but Kadyrov pushes him away.
Kadyrov shoots for a double leg takedown but Kevin sprawls well. He's pushed Kadyrov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Kadyrov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kevin as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Asiyat Kadyrov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kadyrov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kevin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kadyrov somewhat.
Kevin misses with a wild body shot.
Kevin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kadyrov.
Kadyrov is breathing heavily.
Kadyrov dives in for a single leg takedown but Kevin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kevin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kevin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kadyrov to the ground. Kevin is now in Kadyrov's guard.

Kadyrov's coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Kevin is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Kadyrov is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Kadyrov flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Kevin anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Kadyrov and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Kevin slips an arm under Kadyrov chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Kevin has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Kevin is squeezing on Kadyrov like an anaconda would it's prey. Kadyrov fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kadyrov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kevin tries to avoid it but Kadyrov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kevin to the ground. Kevin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kevin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kevin wants it to stay on the feet.
Kevin wants to counter with a clinch but Kadyrov pushes him away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kadyrov.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Asiyat Kadyrov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kevin darts in and clinches Kadyrov up against the cage.
Kadyrov can't get the takedown.

Kevin drags the fight down to the ground.
Kevin pulls Kadyrov in to control the position.
Kevin wants to stand but Kadyrov is controlling the position.
Kevin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kadyrov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kadyrov postures up in Kevin's guard and throws a big left but Kevin blocks it.

Kevin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kadyrov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Kevin is tightening it up a little... Kadyrov has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kadyrov reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kadyrov taps out! Nice BJJ there by Kevin!
