The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rulla lunges at Suarez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Suarez's hand. Rulla swings for the body but Suarez moves out of range.
Suarez scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. It looks like Kana Rulla has been cut. Carlos Suarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rulla looks to score with a jab to the body but Suarez is just out of range. Rulla throws a jab but it's blocked by Suarez. Rulla uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Suarez cracks Rulla with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Rulla throws a hook but Suarez avoids it easily. Rulla slips a jab from Suarez. Suarez takes one on the button. Rulla sizes up Suarez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Rulla tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Suarez was well out of range. Poor timing from Rulla. Rulla throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Suarez sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big left from Rulla misses. Suarez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Rulla lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Rulla takes one on the button. Nice body punch from Suarez. That's one minute gone in the round. Rulla scores with a decent looking hook. Nice cross by Rulla. Suarez lands a big right hand that sends Rulla crashing to the mat! Suarez stays standing though and waves Rulla back to his feet! Rulla is rocked! Rulla takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Rulla is still on wobbly legs! Can Suarez finish him? Rulla looks winded! This has been an exciting period of action! Suarez circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Rulla tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Suarez wins by KO!
