The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos dives in for a single leg takedown but Reyes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Santos fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Santos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Reyes.
Santos takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Reyes takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Santos gets a double leg takedown into Reyes's guard. Reyes pushes Santos off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. This has been an exciting period of action! Santos dives in and grabs Reyes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reyes pushes down on Santos's head and hops out. Grady Reyes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arabia Santos. Santos has his takedown stuffed and Reyes counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Santos thinking. Reyes scores with a hook. Santos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reyes circles away. Santos blocks a jab. A little jabbing left from Santos on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. That's one minute gone in the round. Reyes looks to throw the jab but Santos is out of range. Reyes scores with a hook. Reyes feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Santoss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Reyes lands a body shot.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Reyes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Reyes gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Santos.

Grady Reyes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reyes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Santos sees it coming and avoids it easily. Santos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Reyes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Reyes. No joy for Santos on that attempt.

Reyes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. This has been an exciting period of action! Reyes moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Reyes lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Reyes slaps away a takedown attempt from Santos, before circling back to the center of the mat. Reyes moves into range and connects with a jab. Reyes throws a shot to the body.

Reyes manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Reyes is leaning against Santos and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Reyes lands with a light punch inside. Reyes is pressed up against the cage. Santos has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Reyes down to the mat. Reyes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reyes listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Reyes is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Santos walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A big right from Reyes misses. Santos on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos lands strikes from half guard. Reyes tries to kick Santos off but Santos keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reyes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Santos tries to close the distance and clinch but Reyes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Reyes is looking to counter punch. Santos has taken the fight to the clinch.
Santos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Reyes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Reyes misses with a hook from the clinch. Reyes gets underhooks to prevent Santos's takedown attempt.
Reyes is defending well against a takedown attempt. Santos is trying to drag Reyes to the mat but Reyes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Santos changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Reyes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Reyes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Santos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Reyes cracks Santos with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Reyes has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Santos to stand back up!
Santos is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Santos is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Reyes doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Santos crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Santos's bad books for that mishap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Di Lucci gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Santos to score an easy takedown into full guard. Santos has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Santos with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Di Lucci looking for a guillotine here but Santos defends easily.
Santos cracks Di Lucci with a solid left hand.
It looks like Mario Di Lucci has been cut. Di Lucci wants to sweep but no luck. Santos is looking to work some ground and pound but Di Lucci has wrist control. Di Lucci trying to keep a closed guard but Santos is proving a slippery customer.
Santos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Di Lucci not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Santos chips away with some ground and pound. Santos throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Di Lucci works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Santos working some strikes from top position.
That has opened up Mario Di Lucci's cut even more. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Di Lucci can do anything to dispel that myth. Di Lucci preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Di Lucci is rocked! Santos arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Di Lucci's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
