Sasai paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jeffery will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've been told by Jeffery's head coaches at Blanc Fitness Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Jeffery throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jeffery ducks down and throws a hook to the body.#TD2# Sleziacik darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Jeffery on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kubilius shoots in looking for a takedown but Jeffery manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kubilius's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kubilius slips under a jab from Jeffery. Kubilius uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jeffery.
Jeffery thows a leg kick but Kubilius checks it and Kubilius moves into the clinch. Kubilius decides to pull guard. Kubilius pulls Jeffery in close to his closed guard and prevents Jeffery from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kubilius throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kubilius seems keen to control Jeffery's posture. Kubilius looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
