Werdum flicks out a counter leg kick but Sauer steps away. Sauer throws a sloppy head kick and Werdum counters with a thumping low kick. Sauer is breathing heavily. Werdum blocks the body kick.
A punch combination from Sauer misses. We've been told by Sauer's head coaches at Average Joe�s Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Werdum throws a quick inside leg kick. Werdum thumps Sauer with a low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Werdum throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Werdum fakes the leg kick and cracks Sauer in the body. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Werdum! Sauer is out on his feet! Werdum rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Sauer is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Sauer is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

We've been hearing reports that Maeda has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Sauer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Sauer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. The fighters circle momentarily. Maeda darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.#CUT#It looks like Sig Sauer has been cut. Maeda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Akira Maeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maeda jabs Sauer right on the nose. #CUT2#It looks like Sig Sauer has been cut. Deigos misses with a left hand and Sauer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Deigos takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've been told by Sauer's head coaches at Average Joe�s Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Deigos misses with a wild body shot. Deigos with a hook. Sauer throws a right and a left that both miss. Sauer takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sauer slips under a jab. Deigos swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Deigos's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Deigos duly obliges. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Deigos stuffs the takedown. Witsel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sauer but Sauer pushes him off and we're back to square one. Sauer throws a series of punches but Witsel moves out of range. We've been told by Witsel's head coaches at Simply The Best that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Witsel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sauer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Witsel shoots for a takedown but Sauer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Axel Witsel. That's going to take a lot out of him. Witsel misses with a two punch combination.
Sauer tries to clinch up.#TD2# Excellent takedown into side control there by Sauer. #SU2# Sauer stands up and beckons Witsel to his feet. A right-left combo lands from Sauer. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Witsel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sauer tries to avoid it but Witsel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sauer to the ground. Sauer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #T1# Witsel shoots in for a takedown but Sauer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Sauer connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Axel Witsel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Witsel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sauer defends well and Witsel ends up having to push Sauer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.#TD2# Sauer decides to pull guard. Sauer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Witsel stays in close to Sauer's body and controls the position. Sauer is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Witsel in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Witsel's corner is telling him to maintain position.#SUB2# Witsel has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Sauer to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Witsel is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Sauer pulls down on the head and he's put Witsel to sleep! This one is all over!

A decent looking cross lands there for Maeda.#CUT2#It looks like Sig Sauer has been cut.#CL2# Maeda closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Maeda has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.#TD2# Maeda lands a takedown into guard.
Sauer manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Maeda lands a hook to the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.#TD2# Maeda is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Maeda keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Sauer! This one is all over!

Sauer takes a body punch but keeps moving. Sauer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Richards scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.#CUT2#It looks like Sig Sauer has been cut. Richards scores with a nice right hand.
Richards misses with an uppercut. Sauer saw that one coming. Sauer was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Sauer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Richards throws a leg kick that misses. #TD# Sauer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Richards did well to prevent Sauer getting side control. Richards is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sauer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sauer's back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. #SUB# Sauer working for a triangle but Laguna defends it easily.
Laguna passes Sauer's left leg - he's now in half guard. #SUB2# Laguna is working for a kimura but Sauer is defending it quite comfortably.
Sauer is controlling Laguna's position as best he can from this difficult position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Laguna is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Armpits is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Sauer with a body shot. Sauer fails to land the takedown. Sauer seems to have got his legs back now. Sauer cracks Armpits with a good jab. Sauer throws a wild combination but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A telegraphed right hand from Sauer misses the target. Sauer gets off balance looking for a body kick#KD2# and Armpits counters with a nice right hand that sends Sauer toppling to the canvas! Sauer scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Armpits finish him?! Armpits steps in with a hook that catches Sauer right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Knight tries to clinch but Sauer moves away and Sauer counters with a three punch combo that has Knight backing up. Knight nods at Sauer to acknowledge the strikes. Knight shoots in looking for a takedown but Sauer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Knight's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Knight doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Sauer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sauer lands a nice looking body kick. Sauer keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
#CUT#It looks like Dolphin Knight has been cut. Good shot there by Sauer. Sauer lets loose with a powerful body kick. Knight will feel that in the morning. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors!
