The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buttar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Buttar closes the distance and clinches. Jackson wants to break the clinch but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A battle for position here, against the cage. Buttar tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jackson avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buttar breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Buttar has a takedown stuffed. Jackson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Buttar shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dil Buttar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Buttar lands a big head kick that sends Jackson tumbling to the mat! Buttar takes a step backwards and waves Jackson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Marcus Jackson has been cut. Buttar shoots in but no luck this time. Marcus Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Buttar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jackson defends it nicely. Buttar instigates a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Buttar jumps guard and drags Jackson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Buttar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Buttar looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
Buttar has his foot on Jackson 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Buttar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Buttar is keeping the position. Jackson sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Buttar doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Jackson paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Buttar - great work!
