Smithy ducks right into an uppercut from Pandu.
Pandu tries to clinch but Smithy moves out of range.
Pandu tries to close the distance and clinch but Smithy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pandu has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Smithy is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Pandu jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Panca Pandu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pandu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pandu tries to clinch up but Smithy circles away and keeps his distance.
Smithy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pandu circles away.
Sloppy strikes from Smithy. Those never looked like landing.

Pandu connects with a looping right hand.
Smithy misses with a double jab
and Pandu counters with a left to the body.
Smithy misses with a takedown attempt - Pandu sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Pandu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smithy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pandu is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Oh Smithy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pandu rushes Smithy and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Smithy is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Pandu piles on the pressure and Smithy crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Panca Pandu!
