Woodard crunches a lovely knee into Soldic's ribcage.#BC2# Woodard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Soldic lands a two punch combo.
Soldic is looking to clinch. Woodard goes for a double leg but Soldic avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Soldic continues to drive forward. Soldic is looking to counter with a shot to the body.#CL# Soldic instigates a clinch. Woodard misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Woodard tries to land knees in the clinch but Soldic avoids the damage to the body. Woodard tries to score a body lock takedown but Soldic shows good agility there to stay on his feet.#BC2# Woodard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Soldic is pushing Woodard up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Horrible takedown attempt by Woodard or perhaps it was just good defense by Soldic, which made it look bad. Mateo Soldic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vernon Woodard. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Woodard is defended easily by Soldic. Woodard shoots and misses letting Soldic counter with a right hand. #T2# Soldic tries to clinch but fails miserably #TD2# and Woodard counters with a single leg into guard. Soldic didn't expect that. #ES# Soldic has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Woodard off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Soldic lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Woodard jumps guard but Soldic turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Soldic is leaning against Woodard and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Soldic is defending well against a takedown attempt. Woodard looks winded! Woodard looking to stall.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Soldic takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Soldic lands with a short shot to the head. #T3# Soldic has Woodard pushed against the cage. Soldic dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Soldic wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Soldic's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. Soldic tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Woodard's elbow. Soldic is trying to break the clinch but Woodard has him pressed against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Soldic. Woodard tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Soldic slowing the pace effectively. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Soldic lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mateo Soldic dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Soldic is trying to force a seperation but Woodard has the dominant position. Woodard tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Soldic smiles and moves away.
Woodard fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Soldic has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Soldic tries a head kick but it misses.

Soldic pushes Woodard against the cage but Woodard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.#CL# Soldic rushes Woodard and presses him up against the cage. A bit of stalling here from Soldic.
#TD2# Woodard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Soldic uses from the top position. #SU# Soldic stands and steps away. Woodard gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Soldic stalks Woodard and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Woodard's face. Woodard staggers backwards, shaken. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Soldic doesn't manage to clinch there - Woodard circles away.

Woodard keeps control of Soldic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Soldic works on Woodard's body with a couple of short punches. Woodard has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Soldic after a bit of a struggle. Woodard working hard to break the clinch. Soldic prevents a takedown attempt there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Soldic is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. #T2# Soldic has the hooks in. Woodard is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. #T3# Soldic keeps control of the position easily here as Woodard tries to buck him off.
