#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lessard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smalls scores with a jab to the head.
Lessard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smalls tries to avoid it but Lessard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smalls to the ground. Smalls escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lessard fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lessard shoots in but Smalls avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terry Lessard. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lessard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smalls sprawls well. Smalls wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lessard gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lessard fails to land the takedown. Smalls fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lessard manages to avoid it. Smalls cracks Lessard with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Lessard tries to clinch but Smalls is having none of it. Lessard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.#T1# Lessard fails in his attempt to clinch. Smalls throws a body shot but no joy. Lessard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smalls missing with a left hand there. Lessard was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Smalls throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lessard avoids the body shot from Smalls.
Lessard takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Lessard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Smalls manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Lessard shoots in for a takedown but Smalls shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lessard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Smalls avoids the body shot from Lessard.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smalls. Lessard does a little dance to reset his feet. Smalls swings for the body but Lessard moves out of range.
As Smalls looks to move away, Lessard throws a big counter combo but Smalls just gets out of the way. Smalls stuns Lessard with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Lessard is breathing heavily.#T2# The fight stays on the outside here - Lessard looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lessard displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smalls throws out the jab. Jupiter Smalls is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Smalls connects with a jab. Smalls throws a body punch but Lessard moves out of range. As Smalls tries to get set, Lessard tries to push him back and clinch up but Smalls manages to avoid the attempt. Smalls fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lessard manages to avoid it. Smalls lunges at Lessard with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Lessard's hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smalls thuds a left hand into Lessard's body. Smalls cracks Lessard with a left hook right on the temple and Lessard goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Smalls lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Lessard is OK!
