#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vip missing with a left hand there. Marin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Marin doesn't manage to clinch there - Vip circles away.
Vip throwing a counter right hand but Marin manages to avoid it. A jab from Vip misses. Mike Marin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Vip misses. Vip circles away from the clinch attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Vip on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Marin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vip sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marin somewhat. Marin dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vip's waist but Vip gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marin off to one side. #TD2# Marin dives in and scores a takedown into Vip's guard. Vip wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Marin manages to pass to side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#T1##REVR# Marin working the head and body with strikes. Marin is nestled in close to Vip, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Marin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Marin trying to control from half guard but Vip is working away. Marin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Marin trying to control the action but Vip is working from the bottom. Marin controlling the action here. #T2# Vip tries to get to full guard but Marin has control of the leg. Marin wants to take a breather but Vip is having none of it. Marin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vip's head. #T3# Vip is not content to let Marin control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vip holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Vip is trying to get back to full guard. Vip is controlling Marin's position as best he can from this difficult position.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Vip avoids the head kick by Marin.
Vip swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Marin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vip. A looping hook to the body misses from Marin. Vip does a little dance to reset his feet. Nice defenses there by Marin. Marin moves in looking to clinch but Vip pushes him off.#T4# Marin shoots in looking for a takedown. Vip tries to sprawl out of it but Marin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vip manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Vip was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Vip Vip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Marin. Marin throws the kick towards the body but Vip avoids it. Vip connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Vip scores with a jab. Marin fails with a takedown attempt. Vip is looking to counter punch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vip paws at him with a jab and circles away. A little feinted left hand from Vip on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Marin dives in and grabs Vip's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vip pushes down on Marin's head and hops out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vip Vip dominated that round. That's time! Vip's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.#R2# Vip avoids the body shot from Marin.
Vip steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Marin. Vip swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Marin dives in and grabs Vip's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vip pushes down on Marin's head and hops out. Vip uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.#ROC#Marin is rocked! Marin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vip avoids it really well and circles away. Vip is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Marin is still on wobbly legs! Can Vip finish him? Vip swats away the attempt to clinch by Marin. Marin seems to have recovered his senses. Marin tries to clinch up.#CL2# Marin clinches up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marin goes for a takedown attempt but Vip pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vip Vip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Marin. Vip just misses with a punch to the body.
Marin slips a jab from Vip. As Vip backs off Marin throws a huge counter combo but Vip manages to avoid it all. Vip is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marin can do to turn this around? Vip drops Marin with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Marin! Vip dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
