Funaki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Man is in Funaki's guard.#SU2# Man decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Funaki, up you get! Funaki shoots in for a takedown but Man shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Funaki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Man's waist but Man gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Funaki off to one side. #TD2# Man is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Funaki's half guard. Man wants to stand up but Funaki is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Funaki is looking for a sweep. Man is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Man seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Funaki misses with a takedown attempt #TD2# and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Funaki's guard. Fighter lands an overhand right. Funaki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fighter but Fighter pushes him off and we're back to square one.#TD# Funaki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Funaki seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Fighter is trying to stand.

Khali utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Funaki is looking to work some ground and pound but Khali has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Funaki throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Funaki working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Khali's head.#SUB2# Funaki stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Khali throws up his legs and catches Funaki in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Funaki tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Khali! That came out of nowhere!

Funaki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily #CL# and Norishige counters by moving into the clinch. Funaki is looking to take this one to the mat. Norishige slowing the pace effectively. Norishige lands an elbow just above Funaki 's eye. Funaki is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Norishige pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mizushima Norishige has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Minoru Funaki. Funaki can't get the takedown.

Funaki tries for a takedown but Norishige circles away easily and Norishige counters with a thumping low kick. Norishige connects with a leg kick. Funaki doesn't succeed with the takedown and Norishige counters with a nice low kick that buckles Funaki's knee momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minoru Funaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Funaki shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jordan counters with a straight right hand. Funaki with a lazy takedown attempt and Jordan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Hal Jordan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Minoru Funaki.#TD2# Jordan gets caught napping as Funaki dives in and scores a takedown. Jordan manages to retain guard. Funaki postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Funaki working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jordan's head. Funaki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Funaki keeping moving, preventing Law from controlling successfully. Funaki lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVR# Law preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Funaki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Funaki trying to control the position from guard on top but Law is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Law really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Funaki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Law working a defensive guard here.
