The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frind throws a combination that misses
and Smoking cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Frind misses with a left hand
and Smoking counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Frind throws a low kick but Smoking moves out of range easily. #CL#
Smoking closes the distance and pushes Frind back into the ropes.
I was talking to Smoking's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Smoking lands with a light punch inside.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Smoking.
Smoking digs a right hand underneath Frind's ribcage. Frind let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Smoking lands a body punch.
Frind takes a shot to the head.
A bit of stalling here from Frind.
Smoking stalling the fight.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Frind trying to control the position but instead, Smoking has worked for underhooks and has pushed Frind into the ropes.
Frind is looking to control Smoking's arms but Smoking gets an underhook and turns him. Now Frind has his back to the ropes. #T1#
Smoking blocks a body shot from Frind.
Smoking is pushing Frind up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Smoking lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Smoking scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Smoking lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Frind tries to circle away but Smoking has him pinned against the ropes.
Smoking cracks Frind with a nice body shot.
Frind looks winded!
Frind throws a head punch that misses.
Smoking lands a shot to the body.
Frind's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A right hook to the body lands for Smoking.
Smoking scores with a shot to the side of Frind's head.

Smoking smacks Frind right on the bridge of the nose with a massive elbow! Another one lands and Frind goes down! He's clearly dazed - will he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7... up to one knee... 8,9,10! He's not made it! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Elbows). Jack Smoking!
Jack Smoking really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Arcticus University: London logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. |

Jackson tries to clinch up.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Frind.

Frind is looking to reverse the position.

Jackson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Frind to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Frind shrugs it off.
Frind can't escape the position.

Jackson is working for a guillotine from mount but Frind frees his head quite easily.

Frind fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackson, pushing him back against the cage.#BC#
Frind's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Frind bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jackson's head backwards.#CUT#It looks like Dwayne Jackson has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frind scores with a leg kick.
Frind throws a head kick that half lands.
Jackson takes a body punch but keeps moving. #TD2#
Jackson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frind is trying to defend but Jackson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.#SUB#

Jackson is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.#SUB#

Jackson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jackson darts in and clinches Frind up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frind throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson dives in and grabs Frind's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frind pushes down on Jackson's head and hops out.

Frind connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Frind is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jethro Frind has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwayne Jackson.
Frind tries to clinch but Jackson is having none of it.

Jackson connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Frind to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Jackson!
