and Wayne counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nathan Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wayne paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nice sprawl there from Wayne as Diaz shoots in.
Wayne throws out a counter right but Diaz avoids it with no problem.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Wayne counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Wayne walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Diaz drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Wayne swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Diaz's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Wayne!
John Wayne bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Nathan Diaz was interviewed post fight and said 'The ending to that fight was was bullsh*t and we all f*cking know it! We better run it back ASAP or I'm gonna take another long-*ss lay off.'.

Dutton goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Wayne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dutton was well out of range. Poor timing from Wayne.

Dutton throws a looping overhand right but Wayne ducks down to avoid it.
Wayne throws a big shot that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dutton displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wayne throws out the jab.
As Wayne backs off Dutton throws a huge counter combo but Wayne manages to avoid it all.
Dutton gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Wayne tries to bum rush Dutton with a series of wild strikes but Dutton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wayne scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dutton doesn't seem bothered though.
Wayne is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dutton can do to turn this around?
Wayne lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wayne rushes Dutton and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Dutton is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Wayne piles on the pressure and Dutton crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

A less than humble John Wayne misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.

Wayne tries to close the distance and clinch but Boxer Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
