Shephard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Shaanti walks away with a smile on his face. Shephard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Shephard dives in for a single leg takedown but Shaanti sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Shephard shoots for a takedown but Shaanti saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Shaanti wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Abhidi Shaanti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Shephard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Harris lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shephard doesn't seem phased though.#CUT2#It looks like Adam Shephard has been cut.
Shephard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harris tries to avoid it but Shephard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harris to the ground. Harris escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Shephard takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Shephard walks straight into a right hand from Harris - that's dropped him! Harris jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Shephard from any more punishment! Shephard complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
