This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Diego Lugano! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Kin Karn! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#CL2# Karn closes the distance and clinches.#TD# Lugano pulls guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lugano wants to sweep but no luck. Lugano being controlled here, momentarily. Karn looking to pass the guard. Karn not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Karn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karn passes Lugano's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lugano slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. Henriques tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Karn is in Henriques's guard. Karn won't allow Henriques to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Henriques can do anything to dispel that myth. Karn is pushing down on Henriques's leg trying to pass to half guard. Henriques is fighting to maintain full guard but Karn has managed to sneak the leg through. Henriques wants to control but Karn is keeping busy and won't allow it. Karn winds up and cracks Henriques with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Henriques won't allow Karn to pass to mount. Karn prevents Henriques from improving his position. Henriques trying to control but Karn postures up.

Kin Karn dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!#R2# Karn looks to score with a jab to the body but Henriques is just out of range. Henriques is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Karn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Henriques cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Karn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Karn throws a sloppy body shot
and Henriques counters with a lovely straight right hand! Karn misses with a left hand and Henriques counters with a nice uppercut. Kin Karn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karn swings widly with a right hand

Paulo Henriques showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Henriques slaps away a takedown attempt from Karn, before circling back to the center of the mat. A nice side step and Henriques releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Karn misses with a lunging right hand
