The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diabate fails with the takedown.
Diabate throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sergeev's waist but Sergeev gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diabate off to one side.
Sergeev drops down looking for a counter takedown but Diabate sprawls and moves away.
Diabate shoots for a double leg takedown but Sergeev sprawls well. He's pushed Diabate's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ivan Sergeev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sidiki Diabate.
Diabate tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sergeev manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.#TD#

Sergeev has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Diabate is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sergeev yanks on the arm and Diabate is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sergeev.

Mann cracks Diabate with an uppercut from hell and Diabate crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Mann's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Diabate pulls Mann in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#ES#

Diabate feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
