#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacDonald walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.#TD2# Kurosawa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. MacDonald did well to prevent Kurosawa getting side control. Still in half guard, Kurosawa seems content to control. Let's hope that Kurosawa has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.#SUB# MacDonald looking for submissions from an awkward position here.#SUB2# Kurosawa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, MacDonald has managed to free his arm - good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB# MacDonald looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.#SUB2# Kurosawa wants to work for an arm triangle but MacDonald is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kurosawa stalling. #SU2# Kurosawa stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows MacDonald to get to his feet. #T1# MacDonald shoots in and drives through. Kurosawa sprawls well. MacDonald goes for a double leg but Kurosawa avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kurosawa continues to drive forward. Kurosawa now looks to counter with a shot at the body. A lazy left from Kurosawa finds it's target. Kurosawa lands with a kick to the ribs.
MacDonald throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kurosawa's waist but Kurosawa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing MacDonald off to one side. Kurosawa was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Conor MacDonald. That's going to take a lot out of him. MacDonald doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kurosawa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. MacDonald fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kurosawa avoids it really well and circles away. MacDonald is breathing heavily. MacDonald looks to land a left hand but Kurosawa moved out of range nicely. Kurosawa cracks a nice hook into MacDonald's ribs. MacDonald tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kurosawa swivels and escapes. MacDonald shoots in for a double leg but Kurosawa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kurosawa connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kurosawa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kurosawa scores with a jab to the jaw. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.#TD2# Kurosawa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching MacDonald on his heels. He'll look to pass MacDonald's guard now, I'm sure. MacDonald is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Island Training Centre that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.#T2##SU2# Kurosawa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on MacDonald, up you get! Kurosawa with a hook. Jab by Kurosawa. MacDonald gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kurosawa finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. A slapping leg kick lands for Kurosawa.

MacDonald shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kurosawa defends it nicely.#TD2# MacDonald gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.#T3# Kurosawa postures up and lands a big shot to MacDonald's brow. Kurosawa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. #SUB# MacDonald has his foot on Kurosawa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kurosawa works his way back into a safe position though.#SUB# MacDonald has an active guard here but Kurosawa has managed to pass into half guard.

Kurosawa steps back and let's MacDonald get back to his feet.#TD# MacDonald closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kurosawa did well to prevent MacDonald getting side control.#ES2# Kurosawa has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but MacDonald is on him like a limpet, forcing Kurosawa back against the cage. MacDonald wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
#T4##TD2# Kurosawa has clasped his hands together around MacDonald's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! MacDonald takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. MacDonald is looking for a sweep. MacDonald tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kurosawa presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! #SUB2# Kurosawa jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but MacDonald manages to avoid the submission attempt. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. MacDonald is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kurosawa is staying tight to MacDonald's torso, preventing him from escaping. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takeru Kurosawa dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!#R2# MacDonald shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kurosawa as he jumps to the side. Kurosawa scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.#CL2# Kurosawa closes the distance and clinches.#BC2# Kurosawa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Conor MacDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. MacDonald on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Kurosawa lands with a nice body punch. #TD2# Kurosawa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. MacDonald tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kurosawa is in MacDonald's guard. Kurosawa is stalling in the full guard. Kurosawa's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.#T1##SUB# MacDonald looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kurosawa lands a couple of elbows. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kurosawa's corner. There ya go! There ya go! #SUB# MacDonald working for a triangle but Kurosawa defends it easily.

Takeru Kurosawa has got the better of the ground game so far.#T2# The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kurosawa is figuring out what he wants to do next.#SU2# Kurosawa decides to return to a standing position. MacDonald rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
#TD2# and Kurosawa counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for MacDonald! The referee asks Kurosawa politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kurosawa prefers to stall for the moment though. Kurosawa is breathing heavily. MacDonald is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Kurosawa landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. #T3# MacDonald seems a little lost for a moment, as Kurosawa dominates the positioning. MacDonald is looking for a sweep. MacDonald is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kurosawa is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Kurosawa controlling the pace for now. #SUB2# Kurosawa is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but MacDonald is surviving well by controlling Kurosawa's body position as best he can. MacDonald really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

This isn't 1993 though, so MacDonald shrugs it off. #T4# MacDonald is trying to reverse the position but instead Kurosawa has taken his back - oops! Kurosawa scores with punches from the back.

#SUB2# Kurosawa is working for a rear naked choke. MacDonald is not defending it well and Kurosawa has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! MacDonald refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of MacDonald's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#CL2# Kurosawa rushes Diaz and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Diaz drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kurosawa pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kurosawa goes for a takedown attempt but Diaz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kurosawa throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
Diaz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kurosawa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Diaz. A punch combination from Kurosawa misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A right-left combo lands from Kurosawa. Kurosawa throws a one two combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kurosawa lands with a nice body punch. Nice cross by Kurosawa. #R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurosawa scores with a one two! Smackhead had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Kurosawa jabs at Smackhead's body. Smackhead looks winded! Kurosawa fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kurosawa clobbers Smackhead with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A slapping leg kick lands for Kurosawa.
Kurosawa throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Kurosawa takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kurosawa stuns Smackhead with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Kurosawa looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kurosawa tries to clinch up.#CL# Kurosawa clinches up with Smackhead and pushes him back against the cage.#BC# Kurosawa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kurosawa scores with a jab to the jaw. Smackhead moves forwards but Kurosawa connects with a nice, crisp jab.#ROC#Smackhead is rocked!#T1# Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Kurosawa! Smackhead is out on his feet! Kurosawa rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Smackhead is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Smackhead is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Essential connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kurosawa throws out a loose jab but Essential uses good head movement to avoid it. Essential wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Essential scores with a punch to the head. Kurosawa shoots in looking for a takedown. Essential tries to sprawl out of it but Kurosawa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Essential manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Essential tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kurosawa manages to circle out of the way.#CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Essential throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Kurosawas head. Kurosawa goes for a takedown attempt but Essential pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Essential manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Quintessential Essential has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeru Kurosawa. Essential lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kurosawa backwards. Essential throws a head punch that misses. Essential lands a shoulder strike. Kurosawa wants to break free but Essential has control.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Essential. Kurosawa blocks an uppercut.

Essential with a nice cross. Essential dances in with a quick combination. Kurosawa is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Essential snaps Kurosawa's head back. Kurosawa stumbles backwards against the cage. Essential steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Kurosawa's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Kurosawa just didn't come prepared.
