#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#TD2# Ganjaman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mendes is trying to escape back to his feet but Ganjaman uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mendes is looking for a sweep. Ganjaman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Mendes wants to get back to his feet. Ganjaman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mendes tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sloppy strikes there by Ganjaman. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendes is trying to buck Ganjaman off. Mendes is trying to improve his position.#T1# Ganjaman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Mendes struggling a bit here. Ganjaman lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Ganjaman working the ground and pound. #ROC2#Mendes is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd goes nuts as Ganjaman knocks Mendes out cold with a massive hammerfist! Ganjaman Jumps to his feet and climbs on top of the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#CL2# John pushes Mendes up against the cage in a clinch. Mendes has had enough of the clinch but John keeps him there for the moment. John is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mendes is defending well. John lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. John tries to score a body lock takedown but Mendes shows good agility there to stay on his feet.#BC2# John manages to break the clinch.
John throws a big shot that misses. A combination from Mendes does no damage. Mendes misses with a double jab.
John showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mendes.
Mendes throws a head kick but John moves out of range.
John doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.#CL2# John gets a clinch. A nice left hand lands by John.
John misses with a body punch.
Come on John - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
John lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. #T1# Mendes is trying to force a seperation but John has the dominant position. A short right hand to the side of the head by John. John tries to work over Mendes's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. John gets through Mendes's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Mendes is looking to break free of the clinch but John has double underhooks. John keeps control of Mendes as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Mendes takes a shot to the head. John lands a body shot. John digs a right hand into Mendes's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Mendes's gas tank. Mendes is breathing heavily. Mendes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A short left from John. John lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Mendes or not. John lands a hook that snaps the head of Mendes backwards. A short right from John on the inside. John lands a body punch in the clinch. #T2# John is working Mendes over against the cage. Nice body punch from John. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A body shot lands from John.

John creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Mendes's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Mendes drops to his knees and John pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
