Masten tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hazuki is able to avoid easily. Hazuki went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hazuki doesn't manage to clinch there - Masten circles away.

Dominguez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hazuki has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hazuki is defended easily by Dominguez. Hazuki is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dominguez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dominguez feinted there with a counter leg kick. Montesh Dominguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryo Hazuki. Atkins throws out a loose jab but Hazuki uses good head movement to avoid it. Atkins bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hazuki's head. Hazuki is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hazuki misses with a leg kick letting Atkins counter with a right hand. Hazuki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Atkins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hazuki keeping moving, preventing Jameson from controlling successfully. Wallace has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Hazuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Man Iii keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hazuki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Man Iii. Nice takedown defense from Man Iii. No joy for Hazuki on that attempt. Hazuki misses with a takedown attempt and Man Iii counters with a right hand to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Hazuki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
