The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roth tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kojiro defends well and Roth ends up having to push Kojiro into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Roth doesn't manage to clinch there - Kojiro circles away.

Roth closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Roth is pushing Kojiro up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Roth shoots for a takedown but Kojiro saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Roth dives in for a single leg takedown but Kojiro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Sasaki Kojiro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Roth.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Roth is defended easily by Kojiro.
Kojiro looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Roth gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Kojiro gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
