#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stillwell scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Stillwell throws a right and a left that both miss. Shelter changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.#TD2# Shelter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shelter lands in his opponent's guard. Shelter looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Stillwell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Shelter slips nicely into half guard.#SUB2# Shelter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stillwell pushes Shelter off looking to stand but Shelter dives back in and keeps control.
#SUB2# Shelter seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Stillwell is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Paul Shelter! Paul Shelter decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
