El lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Havran backwards. #CUT#It looks like Gabriel Havran has been cut. El tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
El can't find room to land a body shot as Havran controls the action.

Gabriel Havran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. El moves away from the strike by Havran. Jab, jab by Havran - just one landing. Havran throws a jab but it's blocked by El. El displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Havran throws out the jab. Havran uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from El.#T2# Havran misses with a series of wild punches.

El is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Havran throws a hook but El avoids it easily. El needs to keep his hands up - Havran had a free shot at his head there. This has been an exciting period of action! Havran connects with a good right hand that stumbles El. El circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Havran swings and misses with a shot to the body and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Havran is breathing heavily. El pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Havran takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
#CUT#The cut above Gabriel Havran's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Havran takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. El takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.#T2# Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Havran swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by El.#KD# El drops Havran with a beautiful combination! Havran stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - El is looking for the KO!#ROC#Havran is rocked! El ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Havran's jaw. Havran's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! El does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

#R1# Mahmut lands a front kick. Mahmut misses with a straight left. El throws out a token jab with nothing on it. El throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Left hook, right uppercut from Mahmut. #CUT2#It looks like Marax El has been cut. El tries for a takedown but Mahmut circles away easily#KD2# and Mahmut counters with a nice right hand that sends El toppling to the canvas! El scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Mahmut finish him?! This has been an exciting period of action! Mahmut throws a body punch but El moves out of range. El fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Mahmut has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. El takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

El throws out a loose jab but Mahmut uses good head movement to avoid it. A solid leg kick lands there for Mahmut.
El throws a right and a left that Mahmut avoids nicely. El misses with a few strikes there.

#CL2# Mahmut gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mahmut will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning El up against the cage. El doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

El slowing the pace effectively. A head punch blocked on the inside by El. Mahmut displaying some good clinch control by pressing El up against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mahmut takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. #T2##BC2# Mahmut breaks from the clinch.
El blocks a low kick nicely. As Mahmut looks to move away, El throws a big counter combo but Mahmut just gets out of the way. Good shot there by Mahmut. Nice uppercut there from Mahmut. Mahmut cracks El with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends El tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Mahmut pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! El is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sheikh Mahmut! A very excited looking Sheikh Mahmut made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. Turgeon moves out of range of the strikes. Turgeon has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cope's in the buildup to the fight. Turgeon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Turgeon counters with a right hand to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. El misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Turgeon.

#R1# Petrov swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. El lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Petrov backs up against the cage.
#CUT#It looks like Fedor Petrov has been cut. El throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Petrov stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Petrov scores with the left hand. El knows he should have avoided that one. Decent striking displayed by El there. El avoids the body shot from Petrov.
Good exchange - El coming out on top. Petrov throws a combination that misses and El counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Petrov badly! El follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Petrov out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as El finished him against the cage.

El feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hernandezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!#CUT#It looks like Francisco Hernandez has been cut. Marax El seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. El throws a looping overhand right but Hernandez ducks down to avoid it. #KD# El cracks Hernandez with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hernandez looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can El finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action! Hernandez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hernandez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. El tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hernandez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A little jabbing left from Hernandez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. El tries a head kick but it misses.

#R1# El stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and El wants it to stay on the feet. Lamaj looks for a takedown but El sprawls well. El jabs at Lamaj's body. Lamaj looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Marax El has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ternil Lamaj. Lamaj shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and El counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.#TD2# Lamaj gets the takedown into side control. El knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lamaj on the ground.#SUB2# Lamaj tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. El tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lamaj wants to lay and pray for a moment but El keeps working. #T1# El is looking for a sweep. Greene tries for a takedown but El sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Greene misses with a straight right. Greene misses with a left hand and El counters with a straight right hand. Frank Greene seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL2# El gets a clinch. Greene has been working on his balance at PRETTY PETERS FIGHT CLUB, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by El. A shot in the inside from El. El stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Van Hoodonk scores with a jab. El acknowledges it with a nod of the head. El tries to clinch but Van Hoodonk is having none of it. El throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Van Hoodonk to counter with a crisp jab. Van Hoodonk pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Van Hoodonk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but El circles away quickly and effectively. El slips a straight right by Van Hoodonk. Van Hoodonk misses with a straight right. Van Hoodonk fakes high and swings low for a body shot but El manages to avoid it. Van Hoodonk swings for the body but El moves out of range.
El walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Van Hoodonk checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. El lands a nice hook to Van Hoodonk's body. El will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. El throws a looping overhand right but Thomas ducks down to avoid it. El tries to bum rush Thomas with a series of wild strikes but Thomas uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A bone on bone clash there as El blocks the leg kick.
