Chungus throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ivanov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Chungus has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Chungus checks the leg kick.
Ivanov scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.#CUT#It looks like Big Chungus has been cut.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ivanov.
Chungus throws a jab when Ivanov was well out of range.
Chungus dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Chungus misses with a hook to the body
and Ivanov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chungus misses with a lunging right hand
letting Ivanov counter with a right hand.
Chungus with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Chungus misses the body punch
and Ivanov counters with a nice body shot.
Ivanov seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.#T1#
Chungus thuds his right hand into Ivanov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.#CUT2#It looks like Sergei Ivanov has been cut.
Chungus lands a slapping body shot.
Chungus throws a leg kick that is checked
and Ivanov counters with a straight right hand.
Ivanov is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Chungus throws a jab but it's blocked by Ivanov. #KD#
Ivanov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Chungus sprawling to the canvas! Chungus rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ivanov finish him?!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
and Ivanov counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Chungus! He's just covering up as Ivanov starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Areneson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Chungus as he jumps to the side.
A little feinted left hand from Chungus on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Donk. Chungus catches Areneson right on the button with a cross.#CUT#It looks like Red Areneson has been cut.#KD#
Chungus drops Areneson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Areneson looks back up at him and smiles so Chungus waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Chungus cracks Areneson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Areneson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Chungus pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Areneson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Big Chungus! |
