Cox looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cruz is fending him off so far but Cox persists. Nope, Cruz circles away and we're back to standing. Good work by Cruz as he checks the leg kick. Cox fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cruz avoids it really well and circles away. Sloppy strikes from Cruz. Those never looked like landing. Cox lands a high kick!

Cruz is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Cruz gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cruz content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
