Galanis lands a head shot. Galanis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Galanis connects with a leg kick. Kaloev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Galanis. Kaloev is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Galanis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kaloev was well out of range. Poor timing from Galanis. Kaloev throws a body shot but no joy. It looked like Galanis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Galanis's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kaloev under the eye. Galanis connects with a high kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kaloev takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Kaloev throws a leg kick but Galanis sees it coming and checks it nicely. Kaloev takes a jab on the nose. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kaloev has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Kaloev moves out of range as Dean strikes. We've been told by Dean's head coaches at New York Public Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kaloev on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Dean bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Dean pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dean scores with a decent looking hook. Dean lands a jab. Kaloev misses with a wild body shot. Kaloev takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

We've been hearing reports that Kaloev has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Hughes swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kaloev. Hughes lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Kaloev takes one on the button. Kaloev misses with a wild body shot. Hughes looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. A big right from Hughes misses. Kaloev throws a leg kick and Hughes counters with a lovely straight right hand! Fabinho lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kaloev has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Gaanja works Kaloev's body with a nice hook. Abdul Kaloev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gaanja misses with a hook. Kaloev ducked under it nicely. Kaloev looking to land some kicks to the body here.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pavlovic has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Kaloev misses with a takedown and Pavlovic counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abdul Kaloev. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kaloev. #TD# Kaloev shoots in from a long way out. Possibly, maybe, no Kaloev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! #SUB# Kaloev is working to tighten his grip on Willington Iii's neck. Kaloev really felt that one! We've been told by Big Daddy 's head coaches at Iron Sharpens Iron that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Kaloev takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Kaloev looks winded!#KD# Big Daddy lands a big uppercut and Kaloev crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kaloev looks OK. Big Daddy waves Kaloev back to his feet!#CUT#It looks like Abdul Kaloev has been cut. Kaloev should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
