#R1# Hiccup with a lazy takedown attempt #TD2# and Leaf counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Leaf. Hiccup seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Leaf cracks Hiccup with a solid left hand. Leaf is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Leaf has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Leaf's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Leaf with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Leaf working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Leaf passes into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leaf has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. #SUB2# Hiccup defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Leaf. #T1# Hiccup tries to hold on but Leaf pushes him away. Hiccup is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hiccup takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Leaf lands a couple of good shots and Hiccup has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Hiccup is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

This has been an exciting period of action! Silva in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. #SUB# Silva in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Leaf is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leaf shoots in but no luck this time. Sanchez tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Leaf manages to circle out of the way.#TD2# Leaf looking to score a takedown here. Sanchez is defending well but Leaf drives through and ends up in Sanchez's guard. Sanchez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Leaf controls the pace. Leaf pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sanchez is keeping the position for now. Leaf is stalling in the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leaf with a flurry of punches that miss. #T1# Leaf is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Let's hope that Leaf has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Sanchez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. #REF3# The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.#TD2# Leaf closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Leaf takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Leaf fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Pollo Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxwell Leaf. Leaf tries for a takedown but Sanchez circles away easily enabling Sanchez to counter with a crisp jab. Maxwell Leaf is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
#CL# Sanchez instigates a clinch. Leaf is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sanchez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. A short right from Sanchez on the inside. Leaf prevents a body shot from Sanchez. Still in the clinch, Sanchez scores with a nice short uppercut. Sanchez digs a right hand underneath Leaf's ribcage. Leaf let out a lung full of air as it connected. Leaf drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sanchez stuffs the takedown attempt from Leaf. Leaf gets slowly back to his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
