#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#TD2# Randal darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.#ES# Dogg manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Randal keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. #TD# Dogg jumps guard.

Randal seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dogg trying to keep a closed guard but Randal is proving a slippery customer.
Randal controlling from the top position. #SUB# Dogg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Randal defends it easily. Randal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dogg is keeping the position for now. #T1# Dogg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dogg pulls Randal in close to prevent any damage. Randal postures up.
Randal content to stall in guard here. #REF3# The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Randal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dogg circles away. Dogg drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Randal slips a jab and a cross from Dogg.
#TD2# Randal shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Randal sitting and controlling from the half guard. #T2##SUB2# Randal is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dogg sees it coming and defends easily. Randal tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dogg knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Randal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dogg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dogg wants to get back to full guard. Dogg is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Randal 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Randal 's back! Randal trying to control the hands but Dogg breaks the grip. #T3##SUB# Dogg patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?#SUB# Dogg looking for the choke from the back. Randal prevents Dogg from getting a body triangle. Dogg slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Randal avoids the strikes from Dogg. I really don't envy Randal right now.
#SUB# Dogg looking to break Randal 's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Randal remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Dogg will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Randal tries to break free.
#T4# Dogg tries to get the hooks in deep but Randal pushed the leg off. Dogg doesn't have the hooks in and Randal manages to turn into his guard.
Randal wants to control from the top but Dogg keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Randal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dogg swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Randal trying to control but Dogg is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dogg seems keen to control Randal 's posture. Dogg not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Randal takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Randal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Randal shoots in looking for a takedown. Dogg tries to sprawl out of it but Randal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dogg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Willie Dogg. Well Dogg has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... In favor of your winner, by split decision... Willie Dogg! After the fight, Willie Dogg was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. Ceder Randal spoke after the fight, saying 'My opponent was god awful today. Pure luck. '. |
