The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Plaaitjies with that takedown attempt.
Cruz is looking to clinch but Plaaitjies is avoiding it.
Cruz misses with a series of wild punches.
Cruz tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Plaaitjies counters with a stiff right hand.
Plaaitjies fails with the takedown.
Plaaitjies throws a right and a left that Cruz avoids nicely.
Cruz scores with a jab to the head.
Cruz is looking to clinch.
Plaaitjies misses with a takedown attempt - Cruz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Pinocchio Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randall Plaaitjies.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Plaaitjies tries for a takedown but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cruz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
