Mulligan drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Shaw right on the button. Shaw goes down! Mulligan follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Mulligan gets the win via TKO!

Shaw leaves Lake with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lake fails miserably with a takedown attempt.#CL2#

Lake avoids the head kick by Shaw. #TD2#
Lake gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shaw to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Shaw content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lake has locked up a guillotine! Lake's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Shaw is holding on here and Lake must be using up a lot of energy. Shaw has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lake gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Cody Lake!
