You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kearney closes this distance looking for a takedown but Matilla circles away. Kearney fails with the takedown. Kearney throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Matilla. Matilla looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Kearney shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matilla as he avoids it easily. Anton Matilla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kearney. Matilla swats away the attempt to clinch by Kearney. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
