Taylor throws a big counter head kick but Putins avoids it with no problem. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Putins is defended easily by Taylor. Taylor moves in looking to clinch but Putins pushes him off.#TD2# Taylor shoots in and gets a takedown into Putins's guard. Taylor would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Putins working a defensive guard here.

I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Senior wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Senior tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Senior wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving. Senior slips nicely into half guard. Max trying to hold on to Taylor's head to control him but Taylor postures up.

Jones told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.#BC2# Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Taylor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hiccup shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taylor pinned against the cage. Taylor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hiccup shoots in for a double leg but Taylor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Hiccup tries to clinch but Taylor is having none of it. Taylor is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hiccup.#CUT2#It looks like Steve Taylor has been cut. Taylor wants to clinch up but Hiccup keeps it at a distance.#TD# Excellent takedown into side control there by Taylor. #SUB# Taylor is working for what looks like an arm triangle here.
