#R1# Hicks walks into a straight right hand from Weasel. Hicks throws a lazy right hand but Weasel sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Weasel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hicks looks to throw a body kick and Weasel counters with a stiff right hand. Hicks throws a leg kick but Weasel sees it coming and moves out of range. Nice shot lands for Hicks. Hicks looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Weasel misses with a jab, cross combination.
An attempted straight right counter from Hicks misses the target. Weasel smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Weasel's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Weasel duly obliges. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hicks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Weasel.
A low kick lands for Hicks.

I was talking to Hicks's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Weasel scores with a shot to the side of Hicks's head. Hicks misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Weasel.
#BC2# Weasel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.#KD2# Weasel drops Hicks with a beautiful combination! Hicks stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Weasel is looking for the KO!#ROC2#Hicks is rocked!#CUT2#It looks like Ju Hicks has been cut. Weasel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Oh Hicks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!#KD2# Weasel lands a big uppercut and Hicks crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Hicks looks OK. Weasel waves Hicks back to his feet! Hicks walks straight into a right hand from Weasel - that's dropped him! Weasel jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Hicks from any more punishment! Hicks complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

#R1# Hicks pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Ju Hicks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hicks darts in trying to clinch#TD# and Barnes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Barnes wants to control from the top but Hicks keeps moving. Barnes postures up and lands a big shot to Hicks's brow. Barnes stops Hicks from standing up. #SUB# Barnes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Hicks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barnes is controlling him. Hicks looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Barnes lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hicks looking to control.

Hicks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barnes creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.#SUB# Barnes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hicks is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Barnes controlling the position from side mount. Barnes lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Barnes working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Hicks is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Barnes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hicks to see if he's OK. Barnes lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hicks down.

#R1# Hicks throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hoogo. Hoogo blocks a head kick by Hicks.
#CL2# Hoogo moves into range and clinches up with Hicks. Hoogo stalls. Hoogo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hicks just stands there and leans against the cage. Hoogo tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hoogo can't find room to land a body shot as Hicks controls the action.
With the fighters up against the cage, Hicks throws an elbow but misses. Hoogo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Hicks creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Hicks lands an elbow inside that Hoogo shrugs off. Hoogo looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Hoogo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hicks to keep the fight standing.#TD2# Hoogo jumps into guard, dragging Hicks to the mat.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moreno stuffs the takedown attempt from Hicks. Hicks gets slowly back to his feet. Moreno lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.#TD2# Hicks gets caught napping as Moreno dives in and scores a takedown. Hicks manages to retain guard. Hicks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Moreno is controlling him. Moreno stays in close to Hicks's body and controls the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hicks wants to stand but Moreno is controlling the position. #SU2# Moreno stands up from Hicks's guard - Moreno perhaps looking for a knockout. #T1# Hicks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Moreno swats him away and circles back towards the center. #TD2# Moreno feints and as Hicks raises his hands in defense, Moreno changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Moreno works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.#TD2# Moreno feints and as Hicks raises his hands in defense, Moreno changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Moreno stays in close to Hicks's body and controls the position. Moreno stands and throws Hicks's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T3# A lull in the action here as Moreno stalls from top position. Hicks is trying to get back to his feet. Moreno works to advance to full mount. Hicks defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. #T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Moreno connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Moreno content just to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hicks is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

#CL# Hicks instigates a clinch. Hicks jumps guard but Moreno stands there with Hicks around his waist. Hicks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hicks tries to break free but Moreno pushes him back against the cage. Moreno keeps control of Hicks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hicks is looking to break free of the clinch but Moreno has double underhooks. #BC# Hicks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
#TD2# Moreno closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hicks quickly recovers to half guard. Hicks on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Moreno in particular looking to stall.#T1# Hicks has hold of Moreno's hands but Moreno slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Moreno scoring with strikes to the body and head. Moreno slows the pace down in half guard. Let's hope that Moreno has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.#T2# Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Moreno scoring with strikes to the body and head. #SUB2# Moreno wants to work for an arm triangle but Hicks is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hicks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moreno on the ground. Moreno keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Moreno is nestled in close to Hicks, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.#SUB2# Moreno is looking for a kimura here.

Hicks is in trouble now - Moreno has advanced to mount! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Moreno content just to control the position here. #T4# Moreno has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
