#R1# Karuso comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Karuso looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Karuso lands with a cross. Frank Karuso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karuso throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Karuso lands a lovely overhand right. Bailey shoots in looking for a takedown but Karuso manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bailey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.#KD# Karuso lands a big uppercut and Bailey crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Bailey looks OK. Karuso waves Bailey back to his feet!#ROC#Bailey is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karuso lands a body shot.
Bailey is still on wobbly legs! Can Karuso finish him? Karuso tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Bailey doesn't succeed with the takedown and Karuso counters with a right hand from hell and Bailey is out cold! A vicious knockout!

#R1##TD# Bailey drives through with a takedown into guard. Bailey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bailey content to stall in guard here. #SUB2# Lopez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bailey is aware though and is defending well. Bailey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lopez on the ground. Lopez pulls Bailey in close to his closed guard and prevents Bailey from doing any damage or advancing position. Lopez will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bailey is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#SUB2# Lopez is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bailey frees his head nicely. Oh but Lopez has switched to an armbar! Bailey is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adams throws an overhand right that lands on Bailey's shoulder, as Bailey tries to avoid the shot. Adams closes the distance looking to clinch and Bailey counters with a lovely straight right hand!#CL# Adams gets a clinch. Bailey wants to get back to striking at distance but Adams won't allow it.
A nice right hand lands inside from Adams. Bailey wants to break free but Adams has control.
Adams tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Adams lands a shoulder strike. Adams lands a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bailey is trying to force a seperation but Adams has the dominant position. Adams makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Adams lands a big knee! That's hurt Bailey! Oh, he's all over the place! Adams lands another knee that sends Bailey to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Adams! Fred Adams really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Distinct Label logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty. |
