The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.#CL2# Larkin clinches up against the cage. Catara has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Larkin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Catara is trying to drag Larkin to the mat but Larkin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Larkin is defending well against a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Catara. That's going to take a lot out of him.#TD# Catara turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Shen Po! The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Skip Squint and Topper Green.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#CL# Po tries to keep at a distance but Catara has taken the fight into the clinch.#TD2# Po is trying to trip Catara. He has hold of a leg but Catara is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Po persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Catara throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Schultz's head. Schultz misses with an uppercut. Catara uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Schultz. Schultz throws a leg kick but Catara sees it coming and moves out of range. #CL2# Catara rushes Schultz and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Schultz tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Schultz with an attempt at a knee that misses.

#R1# Fish shoots for a takedown but Catara saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Fish shoots in looking for a takedown but Catara manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fish's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Fish has a takedown stuffed. As Fish tries to get set, Catara tries to push him back and clinch up but Fish manages to avoid the attempt. Dan Catara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bloe Fish. Fish takes a kick to the side of the head. Fish will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.#TD# Catara decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Catara wants to pass to mount but Fish is defending the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fish wants to improve his position but Catara is controlling well.

Catara gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Drake has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Catara doesn't succeed with the takedown and Drake counters with a left to the body. Drake lands a nice looking body shot.
Catara tries to close the distance and clinch up but Drake swats him away and circles back towards the center. Drake tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Catara was well out of range. Poor timing from Drake. Catara misses with a takedown and Drake counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Catara takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Drake throws a combination.
