#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reus goes for a high kick. It partially lands.#TD# Baev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Baev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Reus wants to get back to his feet.#SUB# Baev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Reus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Reus is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#SUB# Baev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Baev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Reus is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Baev asserts his dominance and retains side control.#SUB# Baev looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#SUB# Baev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Baev has hold of Reus's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Reus tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Baev cranks the arm and Reus screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Reus, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Abil Baev! |
