The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kibaja changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chandler tries to avoid it but Kibaja manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chandler to the ground. Chandler escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chandler throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kibaja counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kibaja goes for a double leg but Chandler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Chandler continues to drive forward.
Chandler moves in looking to clinch but Kibaja pushes him off.
Kibaja unleashes a big counter combination but Chandler bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Kibaja will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kibaja looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Chandler tried to counter with a leg kick but Kibaja avoided it.
Nicholas Chandler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DeAndre Kibaja.
Kibaja shoots and misses #CL#
and Chandler counters by moving into the clinch.
Chandler blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#TD#
Chandler has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kibaja uses from the top position. #SUB#
Kibaja has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Chandler to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kibaja is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Chandler pulls down on the head and he's put Kibaja to sleep! This one is all over!
