Skowronek decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Skowronek working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Skowronek has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Maximus is looking to improve his position.
Skowronek slips a nice elbow through Maximus's hands, connecting with Maximus's forehead.
Skowronek seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Skowronek swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Maximus attempts a counter takedown but Skowronek avoids it well and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
