Ibushi tries a quick counter leg kick but House is wise to it. House really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ibushi is looking to clinch but House is avoiding it.
It looked like House was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Johnny House seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ibushi fails with an attempt to clinch.

House is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ibushi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ibushi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kota Ibushi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. There's a bit of a scramble here and now House is on top in guard.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miyamoto misses with a wild combination.
#TD2# Miyamoto feints and as Ibushi raises his hands in defense, Miyamoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Miyamoto chips away with some ground and pound. Miyamoto won't allow Ibushi to get back to his feet. Miyamoto controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like Miyamoto might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Miyamoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#SUB2# Miyamoto thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miyamoto content to stall in guard here. Ibushi wants to stand and escape but Miyamoto is having none of it. #T1# Miyamoto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Miyamoto stops Ibushi from standing up. #SUB2# Ibushi is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Miyamoto has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Ibushi taps out instantly and this one is all over!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ibushi thows a body kick. Reed tries to catch it but that hurt him. Ibushi scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Ibushi misses with a few strikes there.

Ibushi scores with a spinning back kick! Reed will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
