#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Munduruku throws out a token jab with nothing on it.#TD2# Munduruku closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. My Cake did well to prevent Munduruku getting side control. Munduruku looks to score some points with some ground and pound. My Cake is looking to escape.#SUB2# Munduruku is working for a submission of some sort.
Munduruku slows the pace down in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Munduruku stops My Cake from getting back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Munduruku connects with a nice short shot to My Cake's temple. #T1# My Cake pushes Munduruku off looking to stand but Munduruku dives back in and keeps control.
My Cake is trying to control but can't.
Munduruku thows a huge punch but My Cake dodges it nicely.
Munduruku lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Munduruku prevents My Cake from standing back up.

Munduruku slows the pace down in half guard. Munduruku trying to mount his opponent but My Cake defends it. #T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. My Cake is looking to improve his position.
Nice strikes from Munduruku there. Munduruku landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Munduruku is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.#REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.#T3# A bone on bone clash there as My Cake blocks the leg kick.
#TD2# Munduruku shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Munduruku showed some decent athleticism there. My Cake holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. My Cake trying to control from the bottom.
My Cake makes his way to full guard. A much better position for My Cake. Munduruku throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Munduruku really doesn't want to stay on the ground with My Cake. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Munduruku lands a couple of elbows. My Cake is trying to control the position but Munduruku postures up. #T4# Munduruku slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Munduruku landing some decent shots from guard. Munduruku stays in close to My Cake's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Poritambe Munduruku dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.#R2# My Cake shoots in but doesn't get the takedown #CL2# and Munduruku counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Munduruku tries to score a body lock takedown but My Cake shows good agility there to stay on his feet. The referee is keeping an eye on Munduruku - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Munduruku is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Munduruku trying to move into half guard but instead My Cake has managed to sweep!#REVR# We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. My Cake throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Munduruku works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Munduruku looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Let's hope that Munduruku has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Munduruku has been the more effective fighter overall so far.#T1# Munduruku keeping moving, preventing My Cake from controlling successfully. Munduruku has his hands on My Cake's head, controlling the position. #T2# Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. My Cake throwing strikes from guard but Munduruku blocks nicely. Munduruku looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Munduruku can do anything to dispel that myth. Munduruku pulls My Cake in to control the position. #REF3# The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. My Cake throws a right hand that misses
#TD2# and Munduruku counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Munduruku trying to pass the guard but My Cake defending well. My Cake trying to control from the bottom.
#T3# My Cake blocking the ground and pound attempt from Munduruku. Munduruku scoring with strikes to the body and head. Munduruku working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on My Cake's thigh. My Cake counters though and makes it back to full guard. Munduruku connects with a couple of short punches. Munduruku working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Munduruku lands a couple of elbows. Poritambe Munduruku has got the better of the ground game so far. Munduruku working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of My Cake's head. My Cake wants to sweep here but Munduruku controlling him for the moment. Munduruku sitting in guard here, content to control. #T4# Munduruku cracks My Cake with a solid left hand. Munduruku cracks My Cake with a solid left hand. Munduruku scoring with some ground and pound. Munduruku working some strikes from top position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Munduruku wants to pass the guard but My Cake is keeping the position. Munduruku content to stall in guard here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Munduruku content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Poritambe Munduruku showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!#R3##TD2# Munduruku shoots in and gets a takedown into My Cake's guard.#ROC2#My Cake is still looking wobbly from the end of the last round! My Cake trying to keep a closed guard but Munduruku is proving a slippery customer.
Munduruku lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Oh My Cake is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Munduruku makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Munduruku won't allow My Cake to get back to his feet. Munduruku arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! My Cake's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Poritambe Munduruku! A relieved looking Poritambe Munduruku thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
