Horrible takedown attempt by McLaren or perhaps it was just good defense by Donato, which made it look bad. Donato ducks under a wild hook from McLaren. Sloppy strikes from Donato. Those never looked like landing. Donato moves in looking to clinch but McLaren pushes him off.#TD# McLaren scores with a takedown into Donato's guard. McLaren is looking to work some ground and pound but Donato has wrist control. McLaren keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Donato's head. McLaren missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McLaren accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Donato has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment. Donato looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Donato working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Donato can't break the clinch.
#TD# Williams gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Donato can do anything to dispel that myth. Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Donato has wrist control. Donato working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Williams. We've been hearing that Williams has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Donato utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
