Buchanan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sin tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Buchanan is in Sin's guard.
Sin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!#SUB#
Buchanan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sin dives on top into guard.#REVB#

Buchanan has his foot on Sin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sin works his way back into a safe position though.#SUB#

Blumm circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blumm's coach down at Kaufman Burning Ram Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Blumm's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Blumm fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sin avoids it really well and circles away.
Sin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.#TD2#
Blumm gets the takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blumm is working Sin over with some ground and pound from side control.
Sin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blumm wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Blumm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
A lull in the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sin closes the distance but Ortiz moves to the side #TD#
and Ortiz counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Sin!
Ortiz remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
You can see the frustration on Sin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A lull in the action here as Ortiz stalls from top position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Sin has eaten all the pies!
